The Grand Hotel offers a great location, just a short walk from town and the harbour. the renovated room was clean and comfortable, featuring a nice balcony. Dinner was delightful with generous portions. Access to a communal fridge and ironing facilities was a bonus, and fresh linens were always provided. the live music was a refreshing touch that made me feel relaxed and on holiday.

The hotel is older. Minor issues were present.

It was nice place to stay. Got great-sized room with a lovely view and balcony - always come in handy. The location was excellent - close enough to an alternative restaurant in town, the township, affordable and private access for guests and parks. Explored Garden of Tane, that is located relatively near the hotel.

i stayed at the double room with sea view. i had an extremely comfy bed, and air conditioning and a carpet.

Friendly and helpful staff were always around, which was great. the location here was so convenient and nice - close to restaurants, the beach, and the town. 🌟

everything was good, marvellous location near to beach and shops, the township, affordable and private access for guests, and shops, parks, cafes and bars, enjoyable experience. the staff were excellent and helpful all the time. i really enjoyed the room with a view.

I had a pretty decent stay at this hotel. the staff were really friendly and welcoming, and I loved the complimentary drink at check-in. the bar had a great vibe, with live music adding a fun touch to the evenings. Plus, being close to a local pub and nice restaurants made exploring the area super easy. the outdoor dining area was perfect for enjoying breakfast, and the overall atmosphere reminded me of cozy stays in Ireland.

There were a couple of downsides. the noise from adjacent rooms was a bit disruptive at night, and I could hear plumbing, which was less than ideal.

Judy and I just returned from a 40-day road trip and The Grand Hotel & Bar was a delightful place to stay. The receptionist was welcoming and the location was ideal, close to shops, parks, cafes, and bars. The room had great views, a comfortable bed, and a modern bathroom. We loved sitting outside on the balcony and appreciated the shared fridge on the landing. The staff was lovely and there were plenty of brochures for local activities. Great value for money!

The Grand Hotel & Bar in Akaroa is a nice building in a quiet location close to shops, parks, cafes, and bars. the hotel offers a wide range of goodies for breakfast. - Exceptional service is provided overall. - Parking is available right outside the hotel.

The room was fairly quiet with a lovely view. the location of the hotel was good, above a good local pub. - the lunch in Mandala Restaurant, a super close walk to the property, had every choice imaginable.

This place is a great central spot for exploring the main attractions in the area.

The unit was neat and warm with a lovely view and balcony. A huge variety of goodies for breakfast. - Great location close to everything. - Just a 10-minute walk from the Orion Powerhouse Gallery.
